Felton Little Park
Felton Little Park is located close to City Hall in Auburn, Alabama. This is a great little park to take kids for a few hours of playtime.
Five slides can be found here, ranging in size from tiny to tall and the tallest one even spirals. There is sand beneath each of the play areas which lends
itself well to shovel and pail play.
Underneath the largest playset is room for kids to have a "clubhouse". There is even an open serving window to
so the little ones can offer up their sand milkshakes, hamburgers, and tofu (You laugh, but you'd be surprised what I've been served through that little window).
This playplace also has English/Spanish words written if the little ones want to practice their bilingual reading, and some signs in sign language for inquisitive little
minds to ponder.
There are two small climbing walls, steps of various sizes, and some low monkey bars for the little ones to practice their climbing skills so that
they will be ready when the time comes to push up a chair and climb on the counter to get to the cookie jar. You will also find some high monkey bars for the larger kids and two baby/toddler
swings for the smaller tikes.
There are ample picnic tables and grassy areas if you want to bring a picnic lunch and eat out in the sunshine.
And a bench for the tired parent to rest on
while still having full view of the play area. Beware, however, there is a cute little bridge going over a tiny stream that children are incredibly drawn to. They will
go near the water (it's so shallow there's no serious concern, although adult supervision is always advised around any water) and see how close they can get (my girls fall in regularly)and throw the little rocks in to make it splash.
This is also a great park to meet other parents, it is a rare occasion that a conversation does not strike up while watching all the mischief the children are making.
All in all, one of my favorite parks in Auburn.
