Duck Samford Park is located on University between Glenn and Opelika Road. My favorite thing about this park is that it is virtually impossible to lose sight
of your child.
It's great for small children to play on with none of the structures being very high. One piece of play equipement has a firetruck area with a dalmation pictured on it.
This has become our imaginary pet whom we must go visit regularly. Pretty smart con for a five year old if you ask me.
The other piece of play equipment has wide steps and a double slide at the top which lends itself
well to races. It also has a short "fireman's pole" for the children to slide down." My two year old daughter can manage all of the play area without aid, with
perhaps the exception of the monkey bars.
Even those have a low part for easy climbing. The most unique feature to this park, as opposed to others around town, is the blue tube. This is just a stand alone tunnel
with a slight upward curve to which kids can crawl through. Right in the middle of that hump is where my children like to sit and peek out the holes in the side of the tube.

There is also a walking trail around the baseball fields and through a
little wooded patch that makes for a pleasant walk, and even has another play equipment area on the other end of the trail.
The play equipment in this area takes a little closer supervision
with higher levels and slides.
My only gripe is both play areas have woodchips to cover the ground which have a nasty habit of getting into sandals, socks and shoes.
